So a teacher should understand these things, and try to make the environment which students can learn English actively.

Mr. M did interesting activities Dangan Imput and group works: jigsaw learning.

These activities are interesting and practical, especially a point of speaking.

There are other ways of having students to be active, the atittude of a teacher.
Many junior wrote about this, I'm going to obmit it.(オイ！)

I can't say the most important point about teaching, how to plan a lesson and what activities you(of course me) can do.
That is just it. It will be talked from now on. On ETM3 blog or Mr.JH's blogs.

If you are EFL and going to come to Japanese junior high school, you will face the fact.
In my opinion, what you have to do is just making up your mind. What you will do next is depend on students anyway. You can examine about Japanese school life; events, a timetable and an entrance exam for high school by various ways, but seeing is believing. I experienced it by myself last year.（´д｀；）

About Japanese junior high school

I'm going to talke about junior high school: students, teachers from my experience.

I have never done a practice teaching IN a junior high school, but I went to an elementary school and practiced teaching last year.

When I was a junior high school student, I became VERY shy and disliked to talk during a lesson time. I didn't know why, but I think now, I felt a kinds of emptiness then. We have to agree that the most important thing is a grade and there is the difference among individuals, especially in a study. A teacher has to face this problem and we also have to think about it.

I couldn't enjoy lessons because these were boring and I dislike teachers. A teacher should give students enjoyable lesson, for example, a teacher don't speak too much, students can speak freely and students can feel that this lesson is useful.
I think the important thing is how a teacher has students move, be active or have fan and so on... The lesson has no meaning if students can't learn topics because of a bore.

A goal should be placed in a lesson. Students can learn English with a clearly aim if they understand the meaning of the lesson.

I wrote a half, I'm going to write a continuation after. You are going to study the theory (in ETM2) and the practice (in ETM3).

In English Teaching Methodology3, we invited some guest and did many role-playing lesson as a group. And we made our own blog to do assighnments on the Internet. For example, we commented on group members "In your lesson, oooo was good!", "oooo was not so good." and so on. Or we wrote our opinion on it.

This activity is little difficult if you don't have your own computer but you don't have to worry. You can do it in CS or the library. And I recommend using "Windows" to you because "Mac OS" has trouble with a desighn of screen and it doesn't work well.

I should review many many technical terms. Those games are easy for students and students can use new phrases happily.

Ideas for introducing new grammar
"Real things" is usefull and practical. Students can imagine and understand the connection, for example the size, the position and so on.
I think "Use dolls" don't fit with junior high school students. But Pupils must like it very much.

Ideas for practicing new grammar
"Substitution Table" is usefull because students can learn patterns from the table. And students use their brain to find an answer(have or has?).

Ideas for communicative activities
"Information Gap" is good. I did this activity in Mr.Unher's speaking class. It was interesting and I didn't need to be nervous because I worked with my friend. Students can enjoy using English. I really enjoyed it! They used both English and Japanese, I could understand easily. And it was good to repeat the sentences for example, Are you...?, Nice to meet you. and so on.
But I seemed Mr. Abdoreim was puzzled because the lesson started suddenly, and he could not understand what to do. I felt this lesson was good for Japanese students. We were used to "Form (Style?)" of such a lesson. We didn't feel any big discomfort(違和感). However, Mr. abdreim was confused. I thought Team T had to teach more slowly or do some warm-up, and should not continue the lesson when Mr. Abdreim did not understand the key-sentences, either.

Junior High School Grammar

As a student, I feel "I am...", "It is...", "You are..." and the auxiliary verb:can are easy for me. I learn them as a chunk.
And I feel the declension is difficult because these constructions are different between Japanese and English.
Japanese Wa tashi + (ga, no, wo or ni)
English I =Watashi-ga, my=Watashi-no, me=Watashi-wo(ni)
Next, I feel the objective case of the relative pronoun and the participle are difficult, too. I mix the past participle with the passive voice.
As a teacher, Practically, I think the third person, the passive voice, the present perfect, the sentence pattern, the participle, the gerund, and the tag question are difficult to teach. We don't have any ideas like the third parson in Japanese. And It is difficult to rewrite SVC and SVOO.
Teaching these grammartical elements comprehensible is very difficult. I can teach "Do you...?" or "I want to...." etc. as a foemula chunk, so they look easy at first sight but they are not necessarily easy. My favorite English teacher was Nobunobu. He was a high school English teacher.
2. This teacher was my favorite because his lesson was very interesting. His small talk which was given in class was always strange, I used to give a bitter smile. And his pronunciation was good. He had worked with native speakers of English before he became a teacher.
3. As a teacher, my greatest strenth will be ... simple teaching. I will teach Engish simply.
4. As a teacher, my greatest weakness wil l be the timidness. My handwriting is not good and m y voice is small. And I can't react some students sayings at once. A confusion appears on my face. I may give a mistrust to the students.
v››

Hello

It is a fine day!
